Base64 Encoder/Decoder

Encode UTF-8 text as Base64 or decode Base64 back to UTF-8 locally. Standard and URL-safe alphabets are supported.

Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. Decoding expects UTF-8 text, not arbitrary binary files. Input is limited to 256 KB. URL-safe output omits padding; missing padding is accepted when decoding.

How to use it

  1. Choose Encode or Decode and the Base64 alphabet.
  2. Paste text and run the conversion.
  3. Copy, download, or swap the output for a reverse conversion.

Example & limitations

For example, encode 'Hello 👋' as URL-safe Base64, then swap and decode it back.

Input is limited to 256 KB. Decoding requires valid UTF-8 text, not arbitrary binary files. URL-safe output omits padding; missing padding is accepted for decoding. Base64 is not encryption.
